This policy explains what personal information Redhead Dates collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to redheaddates.com and the Redhead Dates app at app.redheaddates.com.

Who we are

Redhead Dates is run by LCARS Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for your personal information. What we collect

• Account details: your name or username, email address, date of birth, gender and who you're looking for.
• Profile details: your photos, bio, interests and approximate location (for example your town).
• Activity: likes, matches and messages between members, so the service works, and reports you make or that are made about you.
• Verification photos: only if we need to check your age or identity, we may ask for a selfie holding a code or a photo of your ID. We delete these as soon as the check is done.
• Payments: if you're a man paying for Premium, Stripe takes the payment. We see confirmation that you've paid, but we never see or store your full card details.
• Technical data: your device, browser, IP address and cookies, used to keep you logged in and keep the service secure.

How we use it, and why we're allowed to

• To create and run your account, show your profile to other members and suggest matches. This is needed to provide the service you signed up for.
• To take payments from male members who choose Premium. This is needed for our contract with you.
• To keep members safe: checking new profiles by hand, spotting fake profiles, scams and abuse, and acting on reports. This is in our legitimate interests and yours.
• To send account emails, such as matches, messages and renewal reminders. Marketing emails are only sent if you agree, and you can opt out at any time.
• To meet our legal duties, for example responding to lawful requests from the police.

Sensitive information

Using a dating service can reveal information about your sex life or sexual orientation. We only use this to provide the service you asked for, with your explicit consent, which you give when you create your profile. You can remove it by editing or deleting your profile.

Our group of sites

LCARS Solutions Ltd runs several dating sites, including Redhead Dates, Shag a Fatty, Trek Dating and Singles Warehouse, which share one member base. Your profile may be shown to suitable members on our other sites, and you may see members who joined through them. You can hide your profile from our other sites in your privacy settings.

Who we share it with

• Other members, who see your profile and the messages you send them.
• Trusted service providers who host the site and app, send emails and take payments (Stripe). They only use your data on our instructions.
• The police or other authorities, where the law requires it or where someone's safety is at risk.

We never sell your personal information, and we never post anything on your behalf.

Where it's stored

Some of our providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure suitable protections are in place, such as UK-approved contract terms.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete your account, your profile is removed straight away and we delete the rest within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep something for legal, safety or fraud-prevention reasons. Verification photos are deleted as soon as the check is done.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, download it, delete it, object to how we use it or withdraw your consent. Email hello@lcarssolutions.com and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Age

Redhead Dates is for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we close any account we believe belongs to someone under 18.

We'll update this policy if how we use your data changes, and tell you about important changes by email or in the app.
